Russian Sommelier Competition XXIII

The semi-finals and finals of the XXIII Russian Sommelier Competition took place in Moscow. The winners of regional sommelier competitions that RAS held throughout the year took part in the competition.

Based on the results of the qualifying stages of the Ural, Southern, St. Petersburg and Moscow Sommelier Cups, 45 people qualified for the qualifying round of the All-Russian competition, but only 38 contestants managed to reach the semi-finals, who passed the closed stage of the competition, which included a blind tasting of wines and spirits, as well as a demonstration skills in the gym.
 
As part of the finals of the competition, a traditional wine salon was held, where wineries and wine trading companies presented their wines for tasting.

Based on the results of the competition, the following were recognized as the best Russian sommeliers:
1st place - Svetlana Dobrynina (Moscow, Selfie restaurant).
2nd place - Denis Yurchenko (Moscow, Fort wine company).
3rd place - Maxim Grebenik (Ekaterinburg).

The Kuban-Vino winery traditionally supported the Russian Sommelier Competition by presenting its new products to the guests of the event.
