Yuzhnaya agrofirm harvested more than 90 thousand tons of grapes
Yuzhnaya Agrofirm has completed harvesting, having reached the planned targets for 2025. The largest viticultural enterprise in Russia has more than 12 thousand hectares of land.
This year, the harvest area was 8,453 hectares, and the yield was 106.5 c/ha. 88,867 tons were sent for processing, more than 1.2 thousand tons were sold fresh.
"The lack of precipitation from May to September was a factor that prevented the development of moisture-loving diseases. Almost before the beginning of maturation, in early August, the plant did not experience stress during the growth of leaves, shoots and clusters, this was due to moisture reserves at depth, in autumn and winter, especially on medium and heavy loams. Stress could not be avoided on sandy soils, and since the beginning of July, a full range of maintenance work has been carried out in the vineyards, which helped to mitigate the negative effects of climatic anomalies," said Ivan Chursin, Deputy Director General for Agriculture.
About 3,000 employees, 26 modern grape harvesters, 50 vehicles for delivering crops to factories, of which 40 were leased and 10 were owned, 150 units of tractor and automotive equipment were involved in the harvesting. The introduction of 4 new state-of-the-art combine harvesters this season has become a key factor in increasing average daily harvest volumes. This technological update has optimized the harvesting process, ensuring that the berries are harvested as quickly as possible. This year, the average daily gross output was about 1,900 tons. A week after the start of harvesting, a daily record was set — 2,175,596 kg were recycled. "The 2025 season promises to be a year of high quality for sparkling wines. In the category of red wines, an expansion of stylistic diversity is expected, with an increase in the proportion of light options. Aromatic grape varieties have also shown excellent ripeness, while white ones do not cause any concerns about their ripening. We managed to allocate part of the harvest for aging in barrels, which will allow us to create premium segment wines such as Chateau Tamagne Signature. It is worth noting that new varieties have been processed and new technological techniques have been applied to existing grape varieties," said Artyom Vasiliev, Chief oenologist at Kuban Wine. Interns from Kuban-Vino and Yuzhnaya agrofirms also took part in the cleaning. For several years, the companies have been successfully cooperating with universities and colleges in the country in the field of education, science, and in organizing and conducting student internships. For five months, under the guidance of experienced mentors, students performed technological operations related to working in vineyards, preparing wine materials for bottling, conducted laboratory studies of wines and listened to lectures from industry professionals. In 2025, the total number of students was about 500 people.
