The chief winemaker of Kuban-Vino, Vanda Botnar, became the winner in the Living Legend nomination of the People of Wine national award

The results of the first People of Wine award have been announced in Moscow.

The award was organized by the Wine and People Telegram community. The winners were selected in three stages. First, a team of 120 industry experts named those who, in their opinion, made an invaluable contribution to Russian winemaking. At the second stage, three candidates were selected from the general list in each of the ten nominations. The third stage was an anonymous vote by both experts and ordinary people on the award's Telegram channel. Everyone who voted in the nominations could cast their vote for only one candidate. On the eve of the ceremony, the percentages of votes were added up.

As a result, the victory in the Living Legend nomination was won by a large margin from her competitors by the chief winemaker of Kuban-Vino, Vanda Botnar. She received 54% of the votes of experts and the people's jury. The award is given for the most significant public contribution to Russian winemaking: production and public activities to promote Russian wine.

Vanda Botnar has been working at the Kuban-Vino winery since 2006. She began her career in the company as the head of the workshop for the production and bottling of champagne and aged wines, then she was the head of the laboratory, director of production, and currently holds the position of chief winemaker. The result of her work has been recognized with numerous medals and diplomas from all-Russian and international competitions.
